FAQs: That's Besties® Free Hygiene Programs

  • Period poverty is a global issue that occurs when people lack access to safe, hygienic menstrual products, as well as the education and infrastructure (like private toilets or clean water) needed to manage their periods with dignity.

While it is often discussed as a financial struggle, it is actually a complex barrier that affects health, education, and economic opportunity.

The Three Main Pillars of Period Poverty
    1. Financial Barriers (Lack of Supplies): The inability to afford pads, tampons, or liners. Because these products are expensive and rarely provided for free in public spaces (unlike toilet paper), many are forced to choose between buying food and buying period care.
    2. Educational Barriers (Lack of Knowledge): A lack of accurate information about menstrual health. This leads to stigma, shame, and fear, which can prevent people from participating in school or sports during their cycle.
    3. Infrastructural Barriers (Lack of Facilities): Not having access to a private, clean restroom with a way to dispose of products safely. This is common in schools, shelters, and workplaces.

Since the 2020 CARES Act, menstrual products are now recognized as qualified medical expenses, a major step toward acknowledging that period care is a health necessity, not a luxury.

  • That’s Besties® is Changing the Narrative.
    It Just MAKES SENSE:

Walk into any restroom in a business, school, or public organization, and you expect to find toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. We don't question these as "freebies"—we see them as fundamental requirements for health, hygiene, and human dignity.

At That’s Besties®, we don’t believe anyone should have to ignore regular bodily functions. A period, along with body odor, is a natural bodily function, not a luxury choice. By providing essential hygiene products alongside standard restroom supplies, organizations aren't just being "nice"—they are becoming truly inclusive, ensuring that every student, employee, and visitor can navigate their day without the stress of an "oops" moment.

    Designed for the Conscious Consumer

We believe that connecting with our consumers means more than just a transaction; it’s about ensuring they feel cared for, understood, and supported by every product they use. We don’t just launch products—we evolve with the changing needs and wants of a conscious generation.

You shouldn't have to choose between your values and your protection.

    • Simple & Clean: We keep our ingredients transparent and free from harsh chemicals.
    • Eco-Effective: We never overlook effectiveness just to be eco-friendly. Our products are designed to perform under pressure while remaining kind to the planet.
    • Deeply Attuned: We listen to the voices that have been overlooked for years, adapting our solutions to meet the real-world demands of modern life.
  • That’s Besties® is a mission-driven, women-owned company focused on care, quality, and accessibility.

    • Clean, high-quality organic pads, tampons, and wet wipes
    • Easy-to-use, ADA-compliant dispensers (multiple dispensers available)
Modern, intentional design (simple and easy to maintain)
    • Aligns with evolving menstruator expectations around product quality, sustainability, and inclusive
design, helping organizations meet modern wellness and equity standards.

    That’s Besties® isn’t just a supplier — it’s a Bestie/partner in menstruator care.

  • When you partner with That’s Besties®, you are doing more than stocking a shelf/restroom.

    You are:

    • Increasing Productivity: Keeping people on-site and focused.
    • Building Loyalty: Showing your community that you see them and support their basic needs.
    • Leading the Standard: Joining a global movement toward menstrual equity and facility excellence.
  • Our programs are designed to be cost-effective, often costing less than $5-15 per visitor per year. There are two investments to start your That's Besties® Free Hygiene Program.

    Thee Initial Investment:

    Getting your B.E.S.T.I.ES Dispenser.
Your upfront cost depends on how many
    restrooms will receive a dispenser.
Multiply the total number of female-identified, gender neutral, and family restrooms on-site by $75–$250
(depending on the dispenser model). That total equals your initial dispenser investment.

    Thee RECURRING Investment:

Supporting every bestie on-site. Supporting every menstruator on-site costs roughly $10–$20 per person, per year—that’s it.

  • Hygiene products can come from the same budgets used for restroom supplies.
    Additional funding often comes from:

    • Schools/Universities: Student life or student government
    • Schools/Universities: First-year experience or student success programs
    • All Organizations: Wellness, equity, or sustainability initiatives/grants
All Organizations: There is growing legislative support for menstrual equity at both the state and federal level.
  • Overuse is usually temporary and often tied to lack of access.
When menstruators begin to realize that our hygiene products are reliably available — just like toilet
paper — usage stabilizes. Clear communication and education about the program help reinforce
    shared responsibility.
Access leads to normalization, not misuse.

  • Hygiene products are managed just like other restroom essentials. Facility teams already order, stock, and maintain supplies like toilet paper and soap. Hygiene products simply become part of that same system. Once dispensers are installed, restocking is straightforward and consistent.

That’s Besties® Dispensers hold 5x more products than other leading brands.

  • Oh, that's simple, Bestie!
